Trio Named to Big 12 Tournament Team

FORT WORTH, Texas – After helping the team claim its first Big 12 tournament title in program history, TCU men's tennis players Cameron Norrie, Alex Rybakov and Trevor Johnson were named to the 2016 Big 12 Tennis All-Tournament team as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Norrie, who was named Most Outstanding Performer at the championship on Sunday, along with Rybakov were named to the singles and doubles teams. Norrie was named to the No. 1 position in singles, while Rybakov earned a spot at the No. 2 position. Both players went 2-0 in singles in the two wins with all four victories being over ranked opponents. The duo paired up in doubles to earn a spot at the No. 3 position by winning both matches against Oklahoma and Texas Tech.
Johnson was the only other player for TCU to go undefeated in singles at the championship with the sophomore first clinching the victory over Oklahoma in the semifinals before scoring another point against Texas Tech in the finals. The Las Vegas, Nev., native was named to the all-tournament team at the No. 5 position.
TCU will now await their selection into the NCAA Championship, which will be announced on Tuesday, May 3 at 4:30 p.m.
