MTEN Preview: No. 61 Cal Poly

FORT WORTH, Texas - After two weeks on the road, the No. 3 TCU men's tennis team will return to the friendly confines of the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center to host No. 61 Cal Poly on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m.
The match between the Horned Frogs (5-2) and the Mustangs (3-4) is free to all fans and those in attendance can also enjoy free pizza from Buffalo Bros., and free popcorn from King Korn. Fans are also able to participate in a prize court during the break between doubles and singles sponsored by Smoothie King.
TCU Notables
TCU is coming off an appearance in the semifinals of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship for the first time under head coach David Roditi and first time since 2001. The team upended No. 12 Illinois (4-0) and No. 6 USC (4-3) before falling to host and former No. 1 Virginia (4-1).
Sophomore and No. 6 ranked Cameron Norrie went undefeated in Charlottesville, Va., and was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Wednesday for his performance. Norrie is 10-4 on the season and 4-1 in dual matches at the No. 1 position. No. 38 Guillermo Nuñez is 11-8 on the season and 3-3 on court three, while No. 122 Alex Rybakov went 2-0 in Virginia as well for a 4-1 record in dual matches this season.
In doubles action, Norrie and partner Trevor Johnson posted a 2-0 record last weekend and are now 3-2 in dual matches this season at the No. 1 spot. Nuñez and Rybakov are also 3-2 on the season at the No. 3 position.
Scouting the Mustangs
Cal Poly is coming off a 6-1 win at Loyola Marymount last weekend after going 1-1 the weekend before in their home opener. The Mustangs were able to grab a 6-1 victory over Saint Mary's before falling 4-2 to San Diego State.
Ben Donovan and Axel Damiens lead the way with seven wins a piece in singles action, with Donovan posting a 2-2 record at the No. 1 spot. Corey Pang is 5-2 in dual matches with all the matches coming on court three. Donovan and Pang pair up for a team-best 5-2 record in doubles, including a 4-1 mark on court one. Dan Cardiff and Karl Enander are undefeated on the season on court three with a 3-0 record.

This marks the first time in program history that the programs have faced off.
