FORT WORTH – Once again, Olivia Miles will feature prominently in the season-long quest for the John R. Wooden Award.
Miles was tabbed to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 Watch List on Tuesday as determined by a poll of national college basketball experts.
The award has been presented annually to the nation's top player for 50 years.
The graduate student has been earned preseason Wooden Award honors for four straight years. Miles was named to the 10-payer Wooden All-American team at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.
She is the fifth Horned Frog and third in as many seasons to receive Wooden Award consideration. Hailey Van Lith was also crowned a 2025 Wooden All-American. She and Sedona Prince joined Miles on the 15-player Wooden Award national ballot in March.
Miles is one of two Big 12 players alongside Audi Crooks of Iowa State who was named to every preseason national player of the year award watch list. She was selected to both the Naismith Trophy and Wade Watch lists earlier in November. Miles was also one of 20 players chosen to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year preseason watch list.
Already the most accomplished point guard in college basketball, Miles has proven the perfect fit in TCU's spread pick-n-roll offense. She is averaging 17.5 points, 7.8 assists and 6.8 rebounds four games into the 2025-26 campaign. Miles is the only player in college basketball averaging at least 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds per game. She ranks second in the Big 12 and sixth nationally in assists per game.
The New Jersey native has posted a double-double in TCU's last two victories. She paired 15 points with a career-high 14 rebounds in the Horned Frogs' 69-59 win at then-No. 10 NC State on Sunday. Miles tallied 22 points and 11 assists on Wednesday in leading TCU to its largest margin of victory in program history in a 122-39 triumph over Tennessee State.
Miles, the preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, transferred to TCU in April following four-and-a-half years at Notre Dame. She is the active D1 leader in career assists per game average (6.5) and triple doubles (six). Miles is also the nation's lone player with at least 25 career double-doubles and five triple-doubles. Her 685 career assists rank second nationally.
TCU (4-0) and Miles return to the court at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday for a tilt vs. Tarleton State (2-3). The Horned Frogs will break the Schollmaier Arena record for consecutive home victories with a win. TCU's 27-game home winning streak is the second-longest in the nation.
