No. 10 TCU will break the Schollmaier Arena win streak record with a victory over the Texans

FORT WORTH – No. 10 TCU returns home to face Tarleton State and challenge for the Schollmaier Arena win streak record at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Horned Frogs have won 27 straight home games dating back to February of 2024 and will break the men's and women's record for consecutive home victories should they triumph over the Texans.

Thursday's ballgame is only the second time the pair of Cross Timbers regional institutions have met on the hardwood. TCU faced Tarleton State in 1978 during its inaugural women's basketball season, when both programs competed in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW). The Texans completed their four-year reclassification to NCAA Division I in July of 2024.

Beginning with its bout vs. Tarleton State, TCU will play seven of its next nine games at home leading into Big 12 play.

TCU jumped seven spots in The Associated Press poll following its 69-59 win at then-No. 10 NC State on Sunday. The Frogs are also the Big 12's highest-ranked team in the USA Today Sports Coaches Poll at No. 8.

basketball history (28 games) with a win over the Texans. TCU women's basketball won 27 straight at home across three seasons from 2008-10. The streak began on Jan. 17, 2008 and concluded on Dec. 22, 2010.

Individual Notables
Olivia Miles

Miles ranks second in the Big 12 and sixth nationally in assists per game (7.8).
Miles' 685 career assists are the second-most of any player nationwide.
She has recorded a double-double in each of TCU's last two wins.
Miles is the only player in college basketball averaging at least 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds per game.
Miles is also one of two Big 12 players ranking in the top-10 of the league in points and assists per game.
Miles is the active D1 leader in career assists per game average (6.5) and triple doubles (six). She is also the lone D1 player with at least 25 career double-doubles and five triple-doubles.
The New Jersey native leads all D1 guards in career double-doubles (27) and 15-5-5 games (27).
Miles has dished out five-or-more assists in 71 percent (75-105) of her career games played.
Miles snagged a career-high 14 rebounds in Sunday's win at No. 10 NC State.
Miles was named to the Wooden Award Top 50 Watch List on Tuesday. She and Iowa State's Audi Crooks are the only Big 12 players who received preseason consideration for every national player of the year award.

Donovyn Hunter

The 6-0 guard is one of two D1 players averaging at least 15 points and three 3-pointers per game while shooting 60 percent or better from the floor.
Hunter has increased her scoring average to 10.6 points per game over her last 15 outings. She was permanently reinserted into TCU's starting lineup on Feb. 19. Prior to that, she was averaging 5.2 points per night.
Hunter's affinity for Schollmaier Arena is clear in her offensive numbers. At home, she averages 8.5 points per game and is connecting at a 51.6 percent clip from the field (79-153) and 46 percent behind the arc (34-74).
Hunter is averaging 15 points per game at home over her last four starts in Schollmaier Arena.
Hunter has posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.0 or better in eight of her last 17 outings.
Hunter ranks 16th nationally in 3-pointers (13) and 19th in 3-pointers per game (3.3).

Marta Suarez

The Spaniard led all scorers with 26 points in TCU's double-digit victory at No. 10 NC State on Sunday. She tallied 15 first half points and came one point shy of matching her career high.
Suarez ranks second nationally among all players 6-3-or-taller in 3-point percentage (.368).
She is one of three Big 12 players alongside Audi Crooks and S'Mya Nichols (Kansas) ranking in the top-10 in the Big 12 in points per game and field goal percentage. Suarez ranks ninth in both categories, averaging 17.5 points per game on the strength of a 54 percent clip from the field.
Suarez has scored at least 19 points in three of her four outings thus far in 2025-26.
Suarez is the only men's or women's player who has competed in four Power Conferences when including the Pac-12. She played in both the Pac-12 and ACC at Cal and spent two years in the SEC with Tennessee.

Clara Silva

Silva recorded her first career double-double on Sunday, finishing with 12 rebounds and 11 points. Her 12 rebounds vs. the Wolfpack were a career high.
Silva's season rebounding average (9.5) is the fourth-best mark among Big 12 players.
The 6-7 center has snagged nine-or-more boards in three straight games.
Silva ranks 15th nationally in blocks per game (2.8).
Silva is one of only 10 players in all of D1 and one of two in the Big 12 averaging at least nine rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.

Maddie Scherr

Scherr drained 6-6 attempts from downtown in just 22 minutes in TCU's win over Tennessee State on Nov. 12. In addition to setting career-highs for first half points scored (16) and 3-pointers, Scherr became the nation's lone player to shoot 100 percent from distance on six-plus attempts.
Scherr has finished with three-plus steals on 24 occasions. She tallied 11 three-steal games as a junior at Kentucky in 2022-23.
Scherr has connected at a 64 percent clip (9-14) from distance over her last three outings.
Scherr, along with Olivia Miles, is one of only 14 active players with at least 350 career assists and 170 steals to her name.
Scherr has 22 career 5-5-5 games to her name.

Series Notes: Tarleton State

TCU and Tarleton State's first-and-only meeting on the hardwood was the final game of the Horned Frogs' inaugural women's basketball season in 1978. The game was the 24th in TCU women's basketball history. Both programs competed in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) at that time.
The midweek matchup between the Horned Frogs and Texans is the first 'D1 vs. D1' basketball game involving the schools. Tarleton State began its reclassification to D1 in 2020 and completed its four-year transition ahead of the 2024-25 athletics year.
Thursday's ballgame is the sixth men's or women's basketball game featuring TCU and Tarleton State. TCU men's basketball has faced the Texans four times, most recently in an exhibition affair on Oct. 20. The contest was the first basketball game played at the EECU center in Stephenville.
TCU is 25-19 all-time against active members of the Western Athletic Conference. Of the games, 38 have been opposite either Abilene Christian or UT Arlington.
TCU and Tarleton State have squared off in baseball, volleyball, beach volleyball and women's tennis since the Texans began competing at the D1 level in 2020. The Horned Frogs hold a 6-2 edge in the combined 'D1 vs. D1' head-to-head series between the schools. TCU baseball is responsible for four of the Frogs' victories. Tarleton State volleyball earned a pair of wins over the Horned Frogs during the spring portion of the 2020-21 season.
