FORT WORTH, Texas - An ESPN College GameDay morning appearance and an overflow crowd of 50,307 including Orange, Rose, and Fiesta Bowl representatives were of little pressure to No. 4 TCU as the Horned Frogs throttled No. 16 Utah, 55-28, showing the country what they were made of.
Matthew Tucker began the onslaught with a 41-yard touchdown run less than four minutes into the game, but Utah was able to bounce right back and tie the game at 7 with 4:48 remaining in the first quarter.
The Horned Frogs answered with 28 consecutive points, including three touchdowns in a 2:31 span early in the second stanza, capped off by a Tank Carder pick-six 15 yards out. The commanding 38-14 halftime lead was too much for the Utes to handle, and the crowd stormed the field upon the game's conclusion as TCU improved to 10-0. The Horned Frogs totaled 549 yards of offense in their first win over Utah since an overtime thriller in Fort Worth in 2005.
