Post-Game QuotesOral Roberts 78, TCU 74
WNIT First Round
TCU Head Coach Jeff Mittie
On the game:
"The pace of the game was different and hard to simulate in practice for us. We had open shots early in the game, we just did not make a lot of them. I did not think we took advantage of the court being spread and being able to get to the free throw line like we should have."
On the rebounds:
"One of the challenges in this game was that there will be more possessions, which leads to more rebound opportunities. The key rebounds at the end for Oral Roberts seemed to lead to second chance points. They were able to get offensive rebounds tonight."
On the senior group:
"It is hard to lose at home for the last game with this senior group. This is a very special group of players. I am fortunate to have had the chance to coach these players. I hate to lose like this. I hate that they have to lose like this, but that is one of the reasons athletics is so great because if it did not hurt so much to lose, it would not feel great to win."
"I think when you have such good character in a group that their legacy will last for the next teams to come here at TCU."
TCU Senior Helena Sverrisdottir
On the second chance points:
"That has been our problem all year and we failed to step up all night. We still had a chance, but we missed all the shots we usually make which led to our loss tonight."
TCU Senior Emily Carter
On the team's mood:
"We are disappointed because we wanted to make a run in the NIT. To come out and miss all the shots in front of your home fans, it was not the best way to finish the year."
