
Lacy leads TCU past Wyoming

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Natasha Lacy scored 19 of her 21 points over the game's final 14:38 to lead the TCU women's basketball team to a 67-59 victory over Wyoming Wednesday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas.Lacy was just two points shy of a career-high scoring effort. The junior from El Paso added six rebounds and four assists.
In avenging a 68-67 loss at Wyoming on Jan. 7, the Horned Frogs (12-8, 6-3) won for the 10th time in their last 13 games.
After Wyoming (15-6, 5-5) took a 52-46 lead with 9:50 to play, Lacy scored 13 of TCU's final 21 points, including 11 in a row in one stretch. She converted a layup and free-throw with 3:26 remaining to give the Frogs the lead for good at 57-55.
A 3-pointer by Erin Hicks, one of Wyoming's 12 treys on the night, brought the Cowgirls within 61-59 with 1:31 left. It would be Wyoming's final points of the contest.
Lacy's 3-pointer with 1:06 to play put TCU on top 64-59.
Lorie Butler-Rayford totaled 18 points and 11 rebounds for her third double-double in the last six games and sixth of her career. She added four assists, four steals and two blocked shots.
Jenna Lohse's 12 points represented the third-best scoring game of her career.
After Wyoming scored 10 consecutive points to take a 17-10 first-half lead, TCU answered with a 15-2 run to lead 25-19 after a pair of Ashley Davis free-throws. Butler-Rayford had seven points while Lohse scored six to key the spurt. Wyoming went 6:10 without a field goal.
The Frogs led 29-28 at the half.
TCU forced 20 Wyoming turnovers while committing just nine. The Frogs held a 34-14 edge on points in the paint and had 15 fast-break points to none for the Cowgirls.
Jodi Bolerjack led Wyoming with 17 points.
The Frogs return to action Sunday with a 4:30 p.m. contest at New Mexico. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2. TCU defeated then-No. 18 New Mexico, 76-67, on Jan. 11 in Fort Worth.
