Imran Niazi wrapped up his third season with the TCU volleyball program in 2024. As tech coordinator, Niazi was responsible for advanced statistics and film for the program. He worked directly with the coaching staff in putting together scouting reports for TCU as well as detailed analytics in match.
During the 2024 campaign, Niazi helped the coaching staff guide the Frogs to their first 20-win season since 2011. It was a record-breaking season that saw TCU receive a ranking in the AVCA poll for the first time ever, win a school-record 13 matches in Big 12 play and earn a ticket to its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. With Niazi’s assistance, four Horned Frogs earned all-conference honors, including Melanie Parra, who was named Big 12 Player of the Year.
After serving as a graduate assistant for the past two years, he was elevated to the Horned Frogs’ technical coordinator for the 2024 season.
As a graduate assistant, Niazi helped head coach Jason Williams and the Horned Frogs’ staff make back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and advance to the Second Round in 2022 and 2023.
Prior to arriving in Fort Worth, Niazi served a pair of stints as technical coordinator with Iowa State (2021) and Northwestern (2019-2021), where he helped develop a scouting infrastructure involving scoring worksheets, VolleyMetrics and video equipment. During the off-season, Niazi helped run summer team camps and implement new technology into the practice facilities.
For two seasons prior, Niazi worked at University of South Florida as Director of Volleyball Operations. He was a member of the USF staff that helped the Bulls reach the NIVC in 2018, their first trip to the postseason since 2002. While also handling DOVO duties, Niazi also assisted in running DataVolley and opposition scooting with USF.
Niazi got his start in college volleyball at UC-Santa Barbara as a volunteer assistant coach in 2016, where he did DataVolley and scouting work for the Gauchos.
He is a graduate of California State University Northridge, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Communications Studies in 2013.
