FORT WORTH – Head coach Jason Williams announced the promotion of Justin Girodat to assistant coach on the TCU volleyball staff.
"I'm so excited that we were able to keep Justin and elevate him on our staff," said Williams. "He has been a part of our family and a key contributor to our success as a program the last two seasons. I'm looking forward to watching him grow as he continues his coaching career in Fort Worth."
In two seasons as a graduate assistant, Girodat made massive strides and became instrumental in the success of the TCU volleyball program. During the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the Frogs won 20 regular-season matches in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2008-09, advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season and TCU received its first-ever ranking in the AVCA poll and climbed as high as No. 9 in the nation.
Girodat stepped up and filled in as an interim assistant coach during the 2025 season. He took on a larger role for the Frogs, conducting opponent scouting reports and running film sessions in addition to overseeing practice drills and positional training to prepare student-athletes for the competition level of the Big 12 Conference. With his guidance, a total of six Horned Frogs earned all-conference honors, including Evan Hendrix, who garnered All-American nods.
Off the court, Girodat also played a role in TCU's recruiting efforts. His assistance in compiling prospect data and preparing communication for prospects helped the Frogs bolster their roster with top high school and transfer talent.
Girodat came to TCU after wrapping up his volleyball career at Carthage College, where he was a member of the 2022 National Championship squad. Playing setter for the Firebirds, he appeared in 120 sets over three seasons, helping Carthage go 60-17 in his three-year career.
A native of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, Girodat graduated with his Bachelor's in Political Science in 2024 from Carthage College and completed a Master's Degree in Liberal Arts at TCU in 2025.
