Karviar Shepherd enters his second season as a graduate assistant at TCU in 2020-21. He makes the move to the bench following a four-year standout career with the Horned Frogs men's basketball team from 2013-17.
In four seasons at TCU, Shepherd scored 855 points to average a career total of 6.5 points per game. One of TCU's most highly recruited athletes, he averaged a career-best 9.1 points per game, while starting in all 30 games as a freshman for the Horned Frogs during the 2013-14 season. Shepherd would go onto post career totals of 635 rebounds, 96 assists, 103 blocked shots and 62 steals.
Shepherd, who started in 94 of the 131 games he played in, shot .436 percent from the field and .318 percent from three-point range throughout his career.
A native of Dallas, Texas, graduated from Prime Prep Academy where he was rated the No. 46 overall player for the Class of 2013 by Rivals.com and the No. 3 center. He was also tabbed the No. 48 overall player according to both ESPN and Scout.com.
