Horned Frogs sweep Bearcats
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The win streak has reached double digits for the TCU women's tennis team as they swept Cincinnati, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.
After winning the doubles point with minimal resistance, TCU (10-1, 4-0 Big 12) cruised in singles play, winning three courts in two sets to capture yet another sweep.
With that result TCU has started off the season 10-1 through 11 matches. That marks the best start for the Frogs since the 2013 dual season when the Frogs started off 12-1.
On top of the 10-match win streak, TCU has secured nine sweeps throughout the process, securing three of those against Big 12 competition. The last time the Frogs were able to string together 10 consecutive triumphs was the 2012 season, when TCU pulled off 11 straight wins.
DOUBLES RUNDOWN
For the ninth time this season, TCU won the doubles point. Using the same mainstay lineup that has started in every conference match thus far, the Frogs were able to grab an early 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
Court three was the first to finish, as the duo of Tomi Main and Cayetana Gay posted a dominant 6-0 victory over Morgan Pyrz and Anastasija Arsic.
Victoria Gomez O'Hayon and Yu-Chin Tsai earned the decisive triumph to clinch the doubles point, taking down Sakurako Watanabe and Rozalia Gruszczynska on court one, 6-4.
Raquel Caballero Chica and Jennifer Jackson were in a tight battle on court two, as the pairing was down 5-4 before the doubles point was obtained.

SINGLES RUNDOWN
From start to finish, TCU dominated in singles play. All six first sets were won by a Frog, and not a single set on the entire day would go to the Bearcats.
Caballero Chica continued her win streak with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Gabrielle Guenther. The junior recently earned a top-20 win during the upset victory over No. 6 Arizona State and is starting to find a rhythm at the top spot in singles.
Cristina Ramos Sierra continues to provide depth in the middle of the lineup as she grabbed a 6-2, 6-2 triumph against Watanabe to put the Frogs one court away from clinching.
The clincher was once again delivered from a familiar face, as Gay notched her third match-clinching result in the last four contests, posting a 6-2, 6-1 win against Milica Popovski.
The other three singles competitors, Gomez O'Hayon, Tsai and Letizia Corsini, were each up on their respective courts before the match concluded.
