Horned Frogs set for weekend of home competition
FORT WORTH – After starting out Big 12 play 4-0 and recording one of the most impressive starts to a season in school history, the TCU women's tennis team will host Kansas on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Iowa State on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
Coming into this weekend, TCU has a 10-1 record to go along with its undefeated start to the conference slate. Three of those triumphs have come against teams slotted in the ITA rankings, including a win over No. 6 Arizona State to open Big 12 play. In those 10 victories, nine of those have come by way of a 4-0 ledger.
LAST TIME OUT
TCU earned a pair of wins over West Virginia and Cincinnati this past weekend to extend its winning streak to double digits. After recording the doubles quick swiftly in each contest, the Frogs faced minimal resistance in singles play to defeat both teams, 4-0.
A WIN STREAK FOR THE AGES
The last time the Frogs were able to string together 10 consecutive triumphs was the 2012 season, when TCU pulled off 11 straight wins. The 10-1 record through 11 matches marks the best start for the Frogs since the 2013 dual season when the Frogs started off 12-1 overall.
POPPING OFF
TCU has had its team start out 34-3 in singles and 17-4 in doubles through 11 matches. Three individuals currently have five or more wins in singles: Cayetana Gay (5), Cristina Ramos Sierra (6) and Yu-Chin Tsai (8). Each of those three players are undefeated so far this season.
In doubles, Jennifer Jackson and Raquel Caballero Chica have notched impressive starts throughout the season thus far. Jackson currently holds an 8-1 mark and Caballero Chica is 7-2 in doubles play.
HISTORY AGAINST THE JAYHAWKS
TCU is 8-8 in its history against Kansas. The two teams faced off twice during the 2025 dual season, with Kansas taking both matches. The Frogs hold a 5-2 mark in Fort Worth, with their last win coming during the 2024 season.
HISTORY AGAINST THE CYCLONES
The Frogs are 9-3 all-time versus Iowa State. TCU is coming off back-to-back wins against the Cyclones in 2024 and 2025. At home, TCU maintains a 4-1 mark against Iowa State.
