
Punch Named First Team All-District

TCU forward earns recognition from NABC
FORT WORTH – TCU sophomore forward David Punch was named NABC First Team All-Gulf District on Tuesday.
The award was voted on by members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches in the Gulf District, which includes schools in Louisiana and Texas.
Punch, who was named All-Big 12 last week, is averaging a team-best 14.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. The Harker Hights, Texas native has recorded seven games of 20 or more points and just last week had a career-high 26 points against Oklahoma State.
Punch has four double-doubles this season, the first coming against North Texas where he was named MVP of the US LBM Coast-to-Coast Challenge at Dickies Arena.
Punch and the Horned Frogs will begin play in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday at 11:15 a.m. CT against Ohio State.
