Frogs outlast Owls before sweeping Spartans
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – To open up its run at the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational, the sixth-ranked TCU beach volleyball team took down No. 13 Florida Atlantic before sweeping Tampa on Saturday at Pompano Beach Pier.
The win over Tampa marked the 250th win in program history. TCU improved to 12-1 on the season with the two victories.
MATCH ONE – No. 6 TCU 3, No. 13 Florida Atlantic 2
The day opened up with TCU taking on host and 13th-ranked Florida Atlantic (10-4) in the second match of the tournament.
TCU opened up a lead early, with Deniela Konstantinova and Melina Mol earning a sweep to get the Frogs rolling.
The Frogs would then face a setback, as Natalie Glenn and Anhelina Khmil got swept at No. 1.
In a third set, Sofia Izuzquiza and Marcela Mattoso faced a 10-14 deficit, but fought back to win 20-18 to give TCU a crucial point.
After falling at No. 2, it would come down to Hannah Taylor and Stacy Reeves, who earned a sweep to clinch the narrow victory for the Horned Frogs.

During the second set of pairs, Deniela Konstantinova and Stacy Reeves earned a point, as did Elea Beutel and Adriana Serrano Ferro.
