Robinson tied career high with 20 points

FORT WORTH – TCU withstood foul trouble and broke through in the second half to top Arizona State, 90-78, Tuesday night at Schollmaier Arena.

A total of 52 fouls were called, including 23 on the Horned Frogs. Three of TCU's starters were in foul trouble for nearly the entire game.

Xavier Edmonds was well on his way to ninth double-double as he scored 17 points and had six rebounds but logged just 17 minutes having picked up his fourth foul with 14:56 remaining.

David Punch had eight points and four rebounds and drew his fourth foul with 11:22 to play. Jayden Pierre played 13 minutes and fouled out with just under three minutes remaining after scoring five points.

TCU (18-10, 8-7) shot 32.4 percent from the field but still led 33-30 at halftime. Micah Robinson scored 17 of his career-high tying 20 points in the second half.

The Frogs, who shot 53.3 percent from the field in the second half, used a 20-4 run to capture their largest lead of the game, 69-50, with 8:03 remaining.

TCU won its fifth game in its last six opportunities by committing a season-low seven turnovers, outrebounding ASU, 40-34, and sinking 28 free throws. Brock Harding led TCU at the free throw line, making 8-of-11. The junior guard finished with 10 points and 11 assists for his second double-double of the season.

The Sun Devils (14-14, 5-10) were led by Maurice Odum who had 21 points and 10 assists.

TCU will next play at Kansas State for a 5:30 p.m. game on ESPN2.

TEAM NOTES
- TCU improved to 5-2 all-time against Arizona State and has won the past four meetings.
- Jamie Dixon improved to 4-0 all-time against the Sun Devils.
- TCU improved to 13-5 at home this season.
- TCU outrebounded ASU 40-34. The Horned Frogs improved to 16-2 this season and 156-46 under Dixon when outrebounding their opponent.
- TCU had a season-high 23 fouls for a game that ended in regulation. The Frogs had a season-low nine in their previous game against West Virginia on Saturday.
- TCU was 28-of-40 from the free throw line. It was the second-most makes and attempts this season. The Frogs were 35-of-43 at Baylor on Jan. 24.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Xaiver Edmonds had 17 points in 17 minutes while battling foul trouble. Edmonds picked up his fourth foul with 14:56 remaining.
- It was Edmonds 17^th game scoring in double figures and the Frogs are 11-7 when he does.
- Edmonds was 3-for-4 from 3-point range. It was a career high for makes and tied a career high for attempts from three.
- Tanner Toolson scored 12 points. He is six points away from 1,000 for his career.
- Micah Robinson tied a career high with 20 points. He scored 17 in the second half. It was Robinson's second time in scoring 20 points having done so a week ago at UCF.
- Robinson led TCU with eight rebounds. The Frogs are 4-0 when Robinson leads the team in rebounding.
- Robinson was 3-of-5 from 3-point range, a career high for made threes. Robinson has made at least one three in seven-straight games.
- Brock Harding led TCU in assists for the 22^nd time this season with 11.
- Harding also had 10 points for his second double-double of the season and the fourth of his career.
- Liutauras Lelevicius scored in double figures for the second-straight game and 11^th time this season with 10 points.
