Four Frogs headed to San Francisco for season-opener
FORT WORTH – Some traditions never change, and the adage certainly holds true for TCU tennis and season openers.
The Horned Frogs commence the 2025-26 campaign at the Battle in the Bay Classic, held from Thursday-Sunday at the California Tennis Club. TCU is opening its season at the San Francisco-based tournament for the eighth straight year.
TCU will be represented in the Bay Area by Duncan Chan, Maximus Dussault, Roger Pascual and Cosme Rolland De Ravel.
Chan, Pascual and Rolland De Ravel are three of TCU's five ranked singles players. Rolland De Ravel is TCU's highest-ranked player competing at No. 81. Pascual and Woestendick were tabbed 88th and 106th, respectively.
TCU's doubles lineup is headlined by Chan and Rolland De Ravel, who each factored into the top-20 of the preseason doubles rankings. They will play their first matches as partners. Rolland De Ravel garnered the ITA preseason No. 4 doubles ranking with Albert Pedrico. Chan slotted in at No. 17 with Cooper Woestendick. He and Rolland De Ravel have maintained national rankings for the bulk of their collegiate
Dussault and Pascual form an all-left-handed duo.
Chan finished as the doubles vice champion and reached the last 16 of singles at the 2024 Battle in the Bay Classic. He went on to qualify for the NCAA Singles Championships.
Dussault, Rolland De Ravel and Pascual are making their tournament debuts.
Rolland De Ravel is the lone senior on the Horned Frogs' roster. He was named the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year. The France native played the 1-line in singles for the Monarchs for the majority of the dual season. Rolland De Ravel has racked up an impressive 143-40 career overall record, including a 43-14 combined mark in fall invitationals.
Dussault is fresh off a standout showing at the US Open. The freshman competed on the junior side of the Grand Slam and won two matches to reach the third round of singles play.
Pascual was one of TCU's most reliable players in its run to the NCAA Championship final. He got the starting nod in 17 of the Frogs' 20 outdoor duals, splitting equal time between courts four through six. Pascual won eight of his final nine completed matches and finished with a 12-2 season singles record.
The Battle in the Bay Classic singles champion receives a wild card onto the ATP Tiburon Challenger singles main draw.

The Horned Frogs have routinely found success in their annual pilgrimage west. TCU has won two of the last six singles championships. Three-time All-Americans Alex Rybakov and Jake Fearnley hoisted the silver chalice in 2018 and 2022. Lui Maxted finished as the singles vice champion in 2024. Dating back to 2019, TCU has advanced at least one player to the last eight of singles play in five consecutive playings of the tournament. The Frogs have accumulated a 25-12 main draw singles record at the tournament over the last three seasons.
