Horned Frogs will get first taste of ITA fall competition
FORT WORTH – A trio of Horned Frogs will take their talents to Cary, N.C., for the ITA All-American Championships, running from Sept. 20-28.
Three Frogs will take part in the prestigious tournament with Raquel Caballero Chica, Yu-Chin Tsai and Letizia Corsini competing in pre-qualifying singles starting on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Corsini will kick things off for TCU on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. CT against Laima Frosch of Virginia Tech. At 12 p.m., Tsai will face off versus Summer Chandler (Tulane), and then an hour later Caballero Chica will play Alexia Jacobs (Washington). If any players were to win, they would move on to the next round of pre-qualifying singles, which takes place on Sunday, Sept. 21.
A total of 10 singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists) through the All-American Championships. Meanwhile, four doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists).
