Two Horned Frogs take home end-of-season accolades
FORT WORTH – A pair of TCU women's soccer players, Seven Castain and Olivia Geller, have garnered USL W League end-of-year awards.
"Seven and Olivia's summer performances were nothing short of elite," said head coach Eric Bell. "To lead the league in scoring and goals against average speaks volumes about their talent and mentality. They continue to raise the standard for our team, and we're excited to see them bring that success back to campus this fall."
Castain won the Golden Boot, while Olivia Geller secured the Golden Glove. Representing Utah United, Castain led the league in goals, scoring 17 during the season. Geller posted an impressive goal-against average of 0.185.
"I'm super grateful that I was given a platform and a league where I could improve and work on the things that will make me successful in the fall," Castain said. "My team gave me the ability to be successful by always creating good chances and finding me in those critical moments. I couldn't have scored any of those goals without them.
"The training environment that Utah United provided also kept me sharp throughout the summer and challenged me every day. As a whole, the summer experience was awesome, and I'm just thankful for the opportunity to grow every single day with amazing people next to me. I'm excited to see how it translates into my final college season."
Castain started seven of nine matches this season, totaling 531 minutes played to help Utah United to a 9-1-0 record and a Mountain Division title. Her 17 goals accounted for over a quarter of Utah's league-high 61 goals this season. The forward scored three more goals in the team's first two playoff matches, leading Utah to the National Semifinals in its first W League season.
The Draper, Utah, native was recently named the Player of the Month for June after recording 10 goals during the month, including scoring a brace in the win against Flatirons FC on the 26th to secure the team's spot in the playoffs.
The success Castain has had in the USL W League is no different than what she's experienced so far in Fort Worth, as she is inside the top 10 in program history for multiple offensive categories. The rising senior currently sits tied for seventh for goals with 22 and also tied for eighth in points with 60.
Castain posted her best season to date with the Frogs in 2024, scoring 13 goals and recording 32 points to help lead TCU to its third Big 12 Regular Season Championship in five seasons.
Geller allowed only one goal in 486 minutes played for an impressive goals-against average of 0.185. She contributed to six of Jacksonville's seven clean sheets, helping the team finish undefeated (10-0-0) and first in the Southeast Division for the second year in a row.
After reclassifying to the 2024 freshman class from the class of 2025, Geller played in eight total games for TCU with six of those being starts in her freshman campaign. She earned a record of 4-1-1 in goal, making nine saves and recording three total shutouts.
