Horned Frogs bring in a record-breaking class
FORT WORTH – TCU women's tennis head coach Lee Taylor Walker announced the addition of five players to the 2025-26 squad. The five newcomers, consisting of four transfers and one freshman, mark the most players added in a single cohort in program history.
"This is a great signing class for so many reasons," Walker said. "All of these ladies possess incredible competitive qualities on the court and a humble, likable spirit off the court that will contribute to our team culture and success. These five joining our returning five players have now put us in the position as one of the deepest teams in the Big 12 and across the nation. I'm grateful and excited to start working with all of them."
Joining the Horned Frogs next year will be Letizia Corsini (Civitanova Marche, Italy; UTSA), Maya Dutta (Dallas, Texas; Boise State), Victoria Gomez O'Hayon (Estepona, Spain; FAU), Cristina Ramos Sierra (Madrid, Spain; Iowa State) and Natalia Salkova (Prague, Czech Republic).
"I believe this is the one of the strongest and deepest recruiting classes in the country this year, and I'm really excited to get them all to campus and add them to a group of returners that is hungry to get to the next level," associate head coach Patrick Sullivan said.
Corsini was a member of UTSA this past season for her junior campaign, where she tallied a 11-6 dual singles record and went 7-11 in doubles play. She was awarded for her academic excellence with CSC All-District Honors following the season. Before her stint with the Roadrunners, Corsini played for Angelo State for two seasons.
"Letizia has seen all the top players from our region recently and brings a wealth of experience." Walker said. "There aren't many players tougher and willing to grind out a victory than her."
The Civitanova Marche, Italy, native posted two outstanding marks of 37-7 in dual singles play and 36-7 in doubles while with the Rams. During her time at Angelo State, she was also a two-time member of the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Dutta spent her freshman season as a member of the Boise State program, where she earned Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors after playing mainly at the No. 2 singles sport and top doubles court during dual action. In singles play, Dutta posted a 19-7 record while also going 23-11 in doubles.
"Maya is really starting to understand her potential after earning Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors," Walker exclaimed. "She has a big game that can take over a match from the start in singles and doubles."
Prior to Boise State, Dutta was tabbed as a five-star recruit, earning the No. 1 ranking in Texas and 51st nationally for the class of 2024 at the time of signing according to TennisRecruiting.net. She won four Junior ITF singles titles, including two 2023 J60 titles in Managua, Nicaragua, a 2022 J5 ITF singles title in Santa Tecla, El Salvador and a 2022 J4 singles title in Monterrey, Mexico. Dutta also has won five ITF doubles titles.
Gomez O'Hayon comes from FAU, where she was a three-year standout for the Owls. She has tallied over 40 overall wins in both singles and doubles action, playing primarily at the No. 1 singles court during the spring season.
"Victoria has beat some of the best players in the country already," Walker added. "She has the belief and experience, and we look forward to building her game more for after college. She is such a fighter and scraps for everything, and we want to build some more aggressive tools within her game and take it to an even higher level."
The Estepona, Spain, native earned All-AAC honors after the 2025 dual season. Prior to FAU, Gomez O'Hayon had captured a 15K ITF doubles title in Egypt, was a singles semifinalist of Spain's 15K ITA event and formerly held a WTA ITA 970 ranking.
Ramos Sierra spent her freshman campaign as a member of the Iowa State team, where she went 14-16 overall in singles action and 18-13 in doubles play. The Madrid, Spain, native went on to earn Second Team All-Big 12 Doubles honors playing primarily at the No. 1 spot.
"Cristina is going to fit in great with our culture and maximize all of her skills," Walker exclaimed. "She has a burning competitive drive and aggressive game. She is a player flying under the radar right now, but we look forward to letting her play her game freely and really go after it from the start. Her experience within the Big 12 at the top doubles line is also very helpful."
Before Iowa State, Ramos Sierra attended ÍES Ortega y Gasset and trained at Club de Tenis Chamartin. She won a Spanish doubles title and team championship while also finishing as a Spanish runner-up twice. She also held a top ITF junior ranking of 531 and WTA ranking of 1,300.
Salkova is the lone freshman joining the Horned Frogs next season. The Czech Republic native brings a wealth of promise and upside into her future playing career. She has compted in multiple UTR singles and doubles events and has experience on the international stage that she will bring with her to TCU.
"Natalie perhaps comes from one of the top tennis countries in the world in the Czech Republic," Walker said. "She will be our only incoming freshman, but she will have as much experience as anyone coming from such a dominant tennis country. We're looking forward to also having another left-handed player on the team."
