FORT WORTH – Sedona Prince was named a finalist for the Lisa Leslie Award for the second straight season on Friday.
Prince is one of 10 players in final contention for the accolade, presented annually to the nation's top center by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
She is one of two players in program history to twice be named a finalist for a Nasmith Starting 5 award alongside TCU Athletics Hall of Famer Sandora Irvin ('04).
From Liberty Hill, Texas, Prince has competed at an All-American level throughout her final college season in 2024-25. She enters No. 9 TCU's tilt vs. Texas Tech on Saturday averaging 18.2 points, nine rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game and is the only player in the country averaging at least 18 points, nine rebounds and three blocks per game at the time of the award announcement. Prince has led the D1 ranks in blocks and blocks per game since December. She is averaging an NCAA-leading 10.8 rebounds per game vs. ranked teams, steering the Horned Frogs to a 4-2 record opposite the AP Top 25.
