FORT WORTH – TCU will begin its spring season on Sunday at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
The 54-hole tournament over three days features 14 teams. Sunday's shotgun start will be at 6:30 a.m.
The Horned Frogs will go with the lineup of Joe Pagdin, Toby Wilt, Hudson Wilt, Charlie Wylie and Jack Beauchamp. Scott Roden will compete as an individual.
TEAMS (14 teams)
Arkansas, Boston College, Butler, Drexel, Kennesaw State, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, North Texas, Rutgers, TCU, Virginia Tech and UNC Greensboro.
HOW TO FOLLOW
Live scoring will be provided by Scoreboard.
THE COURSE – Par 72 | 7,117 yards
The Flamboyán Course has already raised the benchmark by which all future Caribbean golf courses are measured. Offering golfers of all levels both a challenging experience and a beautiful setting in which to play, the Flamboyán Course has been ranked as the second-best course in Puerto Rico by Golf Digest (November 2003) and the best course on the island by Barron's Magazine (March 1999). Built on a former sugar cane plantation, the course was routed to let the prevailing trade winds provide additional challenges. This is especially true on two of the course's longest holes, the par 5 seventh and the par 4 ninth.
TEAM/PROGRAM NOTES
- TCU is ranked No. 46 in the latest SCOREBOARD national rankings.
- Freshman Charlie Wylie is the only player to have made TCU lineup in all tournaments this season. This will be Scott Roden's first time competing as an individual after making the lineup in all five fall meets.
- Jack Beauchamp is looking for his second-straight top 10 finish after finishing seventh at the Ka'anapali Classic last time out in November.
- At the Ka'anapali Classic in Maui, TCU finished sixth as a team with a score of 32-under 820, which tied for the fifth lowest score vs. par in program history.
