Alvarez/Moreno named Big 12 Pair of the Week

TCU’s first conference honor of the season
FORT WORTH – Following a 5-1 weekend at the OUTRIGGER Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic, Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno were named the Big 12 Pair of the Week.
The duo saw victories from the No. 1 spot over No. 5 Stanford (21-17, 21-10), No. 7 LMU (21-15, 21-15), No. 11 Arizona State (21-18, 21-12), No. 12 Hawai'i (21-7, 21-11) and No. 1 USC (21-18, 21-18).
The win over LMU marked Alvarez's 100th career win milestone. Keeping to their name of TCU's most winningest pairing, the duo ended the weekend now holding 93 all-time wins together. Moreno now stands at 98 wins individually.
Against Hawai'i the duo's point helped with the Horned Frogs' first sweep of the season. Additionally, their sets from this match marked the largest margin of victory (24) for TCU this past weekend.
This is the pairing's first honor of the season. The duo holds five national pairs awards including the 2023 AVCA Pair of the Year honors. Also back in 2023, Alvarez and Moreno won CCSA Pair of the Week two times (March 8, March 15, 2023).
