Frogs set for first meets of spring season
FORT WORTH – TCU Swimming and Diving is set to host Iowa State and Incarnate Word at the University Rec Center. The women's team will face off against Iowa State on Friday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m., while both the men's and women's teams will compete against Incarnate Word on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m.
Senior Day celebrations will recognize the women's team on Friday, Jan. 17, and the men's team on Saturday, Jan. 18. Each celebration will begin approximately 30 minutes prior to the meet. Meet results will be posted on the Meet Mobile app.
LAST TIME OUT
The Frogs are ready to kick off their spring season after an outstanding performance at the Art Adamson Invitational. The TCU men's A relay team—Peter Horton, Jadon Wuilliez, Nigel Forbes, and Milan Fabian—set the tone with a record-breaking performance in the men's 200 free relay, clocking a time of 1:17.50.
Freshman Karolin Victoria Kotsar made her mark by setting a school record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.25, while Geremia Freri shattered his own school record in the 200 IM, clocking a 1:43.89 to secure a third-place finish.
In the men's 50 free, both Wuilliez and Horton delivered standout performances. Wuilliez broke the school record with a 19.55 to claim third place, and Horton followed closely, posting a personal best of 19.77 to rank third in program history.
The men's 200 medley relay team of Edgar Cicanci, Wuilliez, Forbes, and Horton added to the record-breaking momentum with a time of 1:24.82, the lone school record of the night.
Individual performances continued to shine as Forbes earned a second-place finish in the 100 fly with a personal best of 46.52, while Colby Hurt climbed to second in the program's all-time rankings in the 400 IM with a 4:16.95. Freshman Seanna Muhitch also made a mark, posting the sixth-best time in school history with a 4:18.36.
Wuilliez delivered another dominant swim, winning the 100 breast with the 12th-fastest time in the NCAA this season, a 51.84. Rylee Moore placed third in the 100 back with a 54.17, while Forbes also secured third in the men's 100 back with a 47.42.
The momentum continued with freshman Kiaha McCool finishing second in the 200 back with a 1:57.56 and Nina Vadovicova earning second in the 200 breast with a 2:12.86. Felipe Goncalves added an NCAA B-Cut in the 200 breast with a 1:54.61. Freri ended his weekend with another school record in the 200 fly, clocking a 1:44.58 and earning an NCAA B-Cut.
The men's 400 free relay team rounded out the meet with a second-place finish, concluding a weekend full of remarkable achievements for the Frogs.
