
TCU Women Dominate Iowa State on Senior Day

Women's team shines in Senior Day victory
FORT WORTH – The TCU swimming and diving team delivered an impressive performance on Senior Day, defeating Iowa State 216-63 on Friday, Jan. 17, at the University Rec Center.
The Horned Frogs showed off their skills across the pool and diving boards, setting the tone for an exciting weekend.
IN THE POOL
The meet began with a strong statement as the Frogs secured first and second in the 400 Medley Relay. The team of Rylee Moore, Claire Chahbandour, Jeanne Dahmen, and Olivia Rhodes touched first with a time of 3:45.78, followed closely by Kiaha McCool, Ella Stein, Maddy Burt, and Caelan Burt at 3:48.23.
Sydney Inman kept the momentum going with a dominant first-place finish in the 1650 freestyle, clocking in at 17:26.72, while teammate Seanna Muhitch took second with 17:32.02.
Rylee Moore and Kiaha McCool led another first and second finish in the 100 backstroke, swimming times of 55.58 and 56.64, respectively. The Frogs continued to impress as captains Claire Chahbandour and Ella Stein secured gold and silver in the 100 breaststroke.
In the 200 butterfly, Jordan Edwards claimed second place (2:06.34), and Morgan Gore followed with a third-place finish (2:08.23).
The Frogs achieved multiple podium sweeps throughout the meet:
-50 Free: Olivia Rhodes (23.21) led the way, followed by Maddy Burt (24.24) and Caelan Burt (24.45).
-200 Breast: Michaela Vadovicova claimed gold (2:18.25), with teammates Vavalle (2:21.50) and Stein (2:22.96) completing the podium.
-200 Free: Snyder (1:54.25), Edwards (1:55.22), and Lopes (1:55.67) swept the event.
Rhodes secured her second individual gold of the day in the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.63. McCool and Moore continued their streak with a 1-2 finish in the 200 backstroke, and Colby Hurt capped off the individual events with a win in the 200 IM (2:05.40).
The meet concluded with TCU's A Team finishing strong in the 200 Free Relay, clocking 1:35.65 to secure another gold.
ON THE BOARDS
TCU's divers dominated the 3-meter event with a podium sweep. Anna Kwong took first with a stellar score of 415.28, followed by Lauren Cey (312.00) and Jordyn Warner (310.58).
In the 1-meter dive, Emma Larcada Herrera claimed the gold with a score of 301.65, and Kwong added a silver medal with a 282.68.
UP NEXT
The Horned Frogs return to the University Rec Center tomorrow, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. to face Incarnate Word. The meet will also include a special celebration honoring the men's seniors.
