Hamlett/Khmil named to First-Team, MacTavish Second-Team
FORT WORTH – Hailey Hamlett, Anhelina Khmil and Sutton MacTavish were awarded AVCA All-American recognition.
Hamlett and Khmil were named First-Team All-Americans while MacTavish earned Second-Team honors. It's the fourth season in a row that a member of TCU has earned All-American selections.
The duo of Hamlett and Khmil were named AVCA First-Team All-Americans for the first time in their collegiate careers. The No. 1 pair for the Horned Frogs has held a 22-3 record together, the best of any pair from TCU this season.
The two started the season 15-0 and ended the season with a 3-0 performance at the CUSA Conference Championships. Their performance not only helped the Frogs clinch their second conference title in program history but landed the pairing a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Before the regular season, the two were named AVCA Beach Pair National Champions (Nov. 6). The duo has been named CUSA Pair of the Week twice (Feb. 28, March 27) and was named AVCA Pair of the Week (March 25) as well.
Hamlett has played every match this season from the No. 1 position. Together, her and Khmil tie for the most ranked wins of any Horned Frog this season at 12. Hamlett has the most wins on the team (29-6) while Khmil is second at 28-7.
Sutton MacTavish (24-8) was awarded AVCA Second-Team All-American honors. MacTavish recorded her 100th career win against Tulane at the CUSA Championship (April 26). The two-time captain for the Horned Frogs garnered 10 ranked wins, including the only point scored over No. 1 USC this season (March 16).
MacTavish was a two-time CUSA Pair of the Week honoree this season (March 20, April 10). At the CUSA Championship, MacTavish was a key component to TCU's second championship title, going 4-0 on the weekend and clinching two matches. From the No. 2 spot with Ana Vergara, the pair was named to the conference's All-Tournament team.
This is MacTavish's first AVCA recognition.
