
Horned Frogs Cruise Past Idaho State 86-46

Van Lith tallies TCU career-high 27 points to send No. 19 TCU to 6-0 start
FORT WORTH – No. 19 put a bow on its season-opening six game homestand with a comfortable 86-46 win against Idaho State on Sunday in Schollmaier Arena.
The Horned Frogs shot a season-best 57 percent (31-54) from the field and knocked down 13-22 looks from deep. Hailey Van Lith, Sedona Prince and Madison Conner all scored in double figures, with Van Lith collecting a game and TCU career-high 27 points.
TCU blew the game open in the second half, outscoring the Bengals 44-17 out of the intermission. The Frogs limited their Big Sky Conference foe to just six made field goals over the game's final 20 minutes.
The win boosted the Horned Frogs' record to 6-0 while Idaho State dropped to 2-4. TCU attained its third 6-0 start to a season in 48 years of existence and second consecutively under head coach Mark Campbell. Sunday's triumph was also notable in that it was Campbell and associate head coach Xavier Lopez's 225th win in 11 seasons on the sidelines together.
Van Lith was an efficient 10-16 from the field and drained 4-9 attempts from deep.
Conner knocked down her first four looks 3-pointers, including three in the first quarter. The 5-11 sharpshooter finished with 17 points. She beat the buzzer in rhythm behind the arc to end the first quarter and stake TCU to a 27-16 head start.
Conner, along with Van Lith and Prince, proved to be a three-headed monster early. The trio combined for 25 first quarter points. Van Lith scored the contest's first five points before Prince followed with a half-dozen.
The first quarter also saw Prince record her 1,000th career point. She accomplished the feat in just 76 games. Prince has accumulated more than half of her career points scored in TCU purple, including 19 on Sunday.
Idaho State remained competitive throughout the opening half. The Bengals hit 11 of their first 18 shots (61 percent) and got within eight points of TCU at 34-26 with 6:10 to go before halftime. Idaho State entered the half with a 20-11 advantage on the glass.
Conner's fourth triple, followed by an and-one from Van Lith, capped a 7-0 run that gave TCU a 41-26 lead late in the first half.
Van Lith and Conner entered the locker room with 15 points and 14 points, respectively, while Prince had 10. TCU led 42-29.
