
All-American Run Ends for Otway and Pascual

First women's tennis players since 2007 reach NCAA Doubles Championships quarterfinals
Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual of the TCU women's tennis teams were eliminated from the NCAA Individuals championship today following a loss in the quarterfinals.
The Horned Frogs lost in a three set thriller to Auburn's Ava Hrastar/DJ Bennett, 6-4, 4-6, 7-10.
Otway and Pasucal started off the match with a 2-0 lead following a break and a Pascual hold of serve. However Auburn came back firing, winning the next three games in a row to take the lead, 2-3. However, the Frogs would fight back to take four of the next five games, and win the set 6-4.
In the second set, TCU would again jump out to an early 2-0 lead, with the Tigers taking the next three in a row. With the score again 2-3, a Frog hold of serve tied the match up at three a piece. With TCU and Auburn splitting the next two games, the score remained a draw at 4-4. However, the Tigers wound up on top, winning the final two games and taking the second set, 4-6.
In the tiebreak, it was Hrastar and Bennett who jumped out to an early lead, winning five of the first six points. Otway and Pascual however, never wavered, bringing the score within one, 5-6. But Auburn would eventually come out on top, taking four of the final six points, to win the tiebreak, 10-7.
This ends a historic run for the Frogs, where Otway and Pascual became the program's first doubles pair to reach the quarterfinals in 17 years, along with the first duo to be named All-Americans since 2007.
