
TCU Concludes Play at ITA All-American Championships

Three players took part in prequalifying singles action
CARY, N.C. – Three individuals on the TCU women's tennis team concluded competition at the ITA All-American Championships at Cary Tennis Park.
The first day of prequalifying singles started out with a bang, TCU went three-for-three and had all players win their first match of competition. Letizia Corsini defeated Laima Frosch of Virginia Tech, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 to get things started. Yu-Chin Tsai followed with a two-set win over Olivia Dorner of Penn State, 6-1, 6-3. Raquel Caballero Chica closed things with an impressive 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(3) victory against Alexia Jacobs from Washington.
On the second day of competition, Caballero Chica picked up the lone win for the Horned Frogs, defeating Iowa State's Stanislava Shulzhenko in straight sets, 7-6(1), 6-0. However, the Barcelona, Spain, native's run would come to an end dropping a three-set thrilled to Deniz Dilek, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(3).
Xinyi Nong of Florida bested Tsai, 7-6(2), 7-6(3), and Corsini fell to Emma Kamper from Utah, 6-1, 6-4 to round out TCU's run in Cary.
The next ITA sanctioned event will take place from Oct. 9-14, as various individuals will compete at the ITA Regional Championships, hosted in Fort Worth.
