The Frogs head to College Station for two matches
FORT WORTH – The TCU women's tennis team is headed south to College Station, Texas, Jan. 27-28 for ITA Kickoff Weekend at the Mitchell Tennis Center. The Horned Frogs will feature as the No. 2 seed to Texas A&M, Rice and Northwestern.

FROG FOCUS
TCU opened the season with a sweep over Northwestern State, 7-0. The Frogs did not drop a set for the entirety of the match. TCU claimed the doubles point with two consecutive wins before posting a 6-0 mark in singles play.
Destinee Martins and Isabel Pascual earned the first win in doubles carrying over their success from the fall season where they tallied a team high nine wins. Raquel Caballero Chica and Jade Otway knocked off their opponents 6-4 on court two to win the doubles point over the Demons.
In singles, all six Horned Frogs took down their opponents in straight sets. Freshman, Caballero and spring transfer, Chiho Mushika earned their first singles victories on the purple courts 6-0, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-3, respectively.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Rice University fell to Harvard in their season opening match 4-2 on Sunday. The Owls won the doubles point and the opening match of singles play but were unable to fend off the Crimson.
TCU holds the all-time series 25-13 with the latest meeting coming from Feb. 2, 2020 in Fort Worth where the Frogs took down the Owls 4-3.
Host and No. 1 seed, Texas A&M enters the weekend ranked No. 9 in the ITA college rankings and a 2-2 overall record. The Aggies lost their first two matches of the season against San Diego, 2-5 and Stanford, 3-4. The team went on to take down Harvard, 6-1, and ACU, 7-0, in their home opening weekend. Texas A&M will face Northwestern on Saturday at 2pm and play either TCU or Rice on Sunday.
Northwestern is off to a 3-0 start with wins over Florida Atlantic, Butler an Eastern Michigan.
