
Rifle Completes Weekend Sweep

Zaun ties career-high in smallbore
FORT WORTH – The TCU women's rifle team completed the weekend sweep with a 4,730-4,715 win over Ohio State Monday at the TCU Rifle Range. The Horned Frogs produced seven of the top aggregate marks in the match.
TCU fired the top mark in both disciplines. The Frogs posted a score of 2,347 in smallbore and 2,383 in air rifle. Ohio State shot a 2,337 in smallbore and a 2,378 in air rifle.
Katie Zaun led all shooters with an 1,191 aggregate mark. It's the fourth time this season she has eclipsed the 1,190 plateau. Stephanie Grundsoee (1,185) finished second. Stephanie Allan and Anne White each fired a 1,179 to finish tied for fifth. Jeanne Haverhill, Mikole Hogan and Nina Schuett rounded out the top 10.
For the second time this season, Zaun shot a 596 in smallbore. It ties her career-high and is tied for the third-best smallbore score in school history. She is the only shooter in the NCAA to reach that mark this season.
Grundsoee finished third, shooting a 587 in the discipline. Stephanie Allan's 585 and Jeanne Haverhill's 582 also contributed to TCU's team score.
Not factoring in the team score, but setting career highs were Kaylynn Slaughter with a 576 and Gianna Yokoe with a 573.
In air rifle Grundsoee led all shooters with a 598, which ties her season high mark done five times this season. Zaun contributed a 595 as did Haverhill and Hogan to account for the final team score.
Allan (594), White (594) and Schuett (593) rounded out the top 10 marks in air rifle. Slaughter continued her solid weekend, setting a career-high with a 590 in the discipline.
TCU and Ohio State will meet for the third straight match on Jan. 21. This time the match will take place at the Buckeyes' home range.
