Record crowd of 53,294 packed Amon G. Carter Stadium
The attendance of 53,294 shattered the previous mark of 50,307 for a 2009 contest against Utah. Another record was set for student attendance with 6,663. It's the sixth time in the last seven home games for a new mark for TCU students.
Trailing 17-14 at the half and later by as many as 10 points, the Horned Frogs stormed back to take their first lead of the game at 28-24 on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Chandler Morris to Dylan Wright with 2:32 left in the third quarter. Morris threw for 279 yards and two scores while adding a 19-yard touchdown run.
The second half featured six lead changes before the Buffaloes went on top for good with 4:25 to play.
TCU took its final lead at 42-38 on Trey Sanders' 1-yard scoring run, one of his three rushing scores in his TCU debut. It came just two plays after Major Everhart returned a kickoff 86 yards. The Horned Frogs' special teams set up an earlier score when Namdi Obiazor blocked a field goal to provide a short field for TCU.
The Horned Frogs totaled 531 yards of offense, with Emani Bailey rushing for a career-high 164 yards on 14 carries.
