Morris totals 326 yards of offense and 3 TDs
Special teams came up big for the second straight game for the Horned Frogs, while the defense did not allow a touchdown and held the Colonels to 263 yards.
Following Nicholls' opening possession, a block by Trent Battle and 24-yard return by Blake Nowell gave TCU its first blocked punt for a touchdown since Antonio Graves against New Mexico in 2011.
TCU's special teams again provided a highlight on the final play of the first half when Griffin Kell tied a TCU record with a 57-yard field goal. It equaled Jaden Oberkrom versus West Virginia in 2015 and Michael Reeder against UTEP in 1996 for the longest made kick in program history.
Chandler Morris completed 26-of-30 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 63 yards on six carries and another score. The 86.7 completion percentage by Morris tied for third-best in a game at TCU.
A career-long 32-yard run by Morris, on a 3rd-and-12, gave TCU a 14-0 lead with a minute to play in the first quarter. Morris later added scoring passes of 14 yards to Jaylon Robinson and 4 to JoJo Earle for their first touchdowns as Horned Frogs. Robinson had five receptions for 39 yards, while Warren Thompson recorded a career-high and team-leading eight catches for 92 yards.
