
OSU Transfer Anderson Signs with TCU

Three-year starter comes home
FORT WORTH – TCU head men's basketball coach Jamie Dixon announced the signing of Avery Anderson III on Saturday.
The 6-3 guard will return home to the Fort Worth area after spending four seasons at Oklahoma State.
Anderson totaled 1,044 career points at OSU. TCU's other spring signees, Essam Mostafa, Jameer Nelson Jr. and Trevian Tennyson also have scored 1,000 points in their careers.
Those four join incoming freshmen Isaiah Manning and Jace Posey.
The Justin, Texas native averaged 11.1 points in 22 games last season before an injury cut his senior season short.
As a junior, Anderson started all 30 games that he played and averaged 12.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals. His career-high 34 points against Iowa State was the second-most scored by one player in the Big 12 Conference. He shot 76.1 percent from the free throw line which ranked sixth in the Big 12.
In his sophomore season, Anderson earned All-Big 12 Championship Team honors after helping lead the Cowboys to the title game. For the season, he ranked second on the team, behind Cade Cunningham, with 12.2 points per game. Anderson excelled at the end of the season scoring in double figures in nine of his last 10 games.
Prior to playing in 30 games in his freshman season at OSU, Anderson starred at Justin Northwestern High School reach the Texas Class 5A State Tournament in 2017 and 2018, including a state title-game appearance in 2018. The consensus four-star recruit was ranked 1-2 nationally by 247Sports.com. The two-time all-state selection poured in 22.7 points per game as a senior and broke the Northwest High School scoring record by racking up 2,767 career points.
