Horned Frogs begin the season with exhibition against the Rams
FORT WORTH – TCU's men's basketball team will open the season with a free exhibition game against Texas Wesleyan at Schollmaier Arena on Monday at 7 p.m.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the free admission gives fans access to any general seating. There is no radio ro television broadcast.
Prior to the game, starting at 6 p.m., TCU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host a Trick or Treat. Young fans are encouraged to dress up for Halloween and Trick or Treat around the concourse of Schollmaier Arena.
Jamie Dixon enters his eighth season as TCU's head coach and returns five players from last season's NCAA Tournament team. One of those returners, Emanuel Miller was named Preseason All-Big 12. Other returners are Chuck O'Bannon Jr., JaKobe Coles, Xavier Cork, Micah Peavy, which all played on the past two teams which advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Texas Wesleyan is an NAIA school in Fort Worth. The Rams won the 2017 NAIA National Championship and are led by head coach Brennen Shingleton. Among the three assistant coaches is Brian Wanamaker, the brother of Brad Wanamaker who played for Dixon at Pittsburgh from 2007-11.
