TCU Men's Tennis Looking for Second Straight Road Win
FORT WORTH -- No. 3 TCU men's tennis (13-2) is headed to Los Angeles for a Thursday afternoon dual against No. 46 UCLA (4-6). The match will begin at 3 p.m. CT at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
The Horned Frogs are hoping to keep the winning momentum going on the road after winning their 2022 road opener, 4-2, at Illinois last weekend. TCU fell the No. 3 in the latest ITA team rankings, while still maintaining a program record five ranked singles players and three ranked doubles pairings.

The latest ITA rankings see all five of TCU's ranked singles players remain in the rankings. Juan Carlos Aguilar jumps to No. 12, his highest ranking of the season, while Luc Fomba stays put at No. 14. Jake Fearnley comes in next at No. 49, marking his third straight week in the Top 50 while freshman Lui Maxted comes in at No. 73, jumping up five spots. The biggest mover was Sander Jong, jumping up 34 spots to No. 89.
TCU has three doubles pairings in the Top 6 for the first time in program history. Jong and Maxted lead the pack at No. 4, followed by Maxted and Pedro Vives at No, 5 and Fomba/Fearnley at No. 6. TCU has won 75.7 percent of its doubles matches this season (28-9) with a 21-4 record (84 percent) from the ranked pairings.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
UCLA enters the match with a No. 46 ranking in the latest ITA polls and a 4-6 record. They enter the match on a three-match losing streak after falling to San Diego, 4-3, in their most recent match. The Bruins are 3-0 at home this year, with wins over St. Mary's, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara.
This will be the 14th all-time meeting between the two programs. UCLA leads the series, 10-3. TCU won the last meeting at the 2019 Indoor National Tournament, 4-0. TCU is 1-1 against UCLA this century.
