FORT WORTH -- TCU women's tennis (9-8) will play its Big 12 Conference home opener this weekend when the Horned Frogs take on West Virginia this Friday at 2:30 p.m. TCU will continue the home stand on Sunday, hosting No. 28 Iowa State at 1 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs are coming off its first win of Big 12 play, a 4-2 victory on the road at K-State. TCU won four of five completed singles matches in that dual, including come-from-behind three-set victories by Alisa Soloveva and Isabel Pascual, with the latter clinching the dual.
Soloveva and Pascual are two of the four most consistent winners on TCU up to this point. Pascual is tied with freshman Jade Otway for the team lead with 13 overall victories this year, Otway leads the team with 8 singles wins while Pascual's seven doubles wins paces the team. Soloveva holds 12 wins this season, tied with Aleksa Cveticanin for the second most on the roster.
TCU broke into the ITA Team rankings for the first time this season, coming it at No. 75 this week.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
West Virginia (7-9) enters its second week of Big 12 action after falling to both Texas and Baylor, at home, last weekend. The Mountaineers have never beaten TCU in nine attempts. TCU took down WVU last season, 5-2, in Morgantown.
Iowa State (11-2) lost its first two matches of the season last weekend, falling to Baylor and Texas in the first weekend of Big 12 play. Prior to those losses, ISU had won 11 matches in a row, taking down common opponents with TCU such as Wisconsin (4-3) and Memohis (4-2). TCU is 7-1 all-time against Iowa State, with the lone loss coming last season, in Ames.
