FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs are ready for battle after being ranked No. 1 in both major tennis polls for the second time this season. TCU is on a four-match winning streak after defeating USF and SMU last weekend in non-conference matches. The Horned Frogs are looking for their fourth straight victory over a Top 10 opponent, something TCU has not accomplished since winning five in a row back in 2017.
TCU's success this season can be owed, in large part, to its doubles play. The Horned Frogs are one of the best doubles teams in the nation, posting a 34-8 record (80.9 win%) in doubles matches, leading to 16 out of a possible 18 doubles points. The Frogs have played four 4-3 matches this season, against Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Ohio State, winning the doubles point on all four occasions.
The ITA has recognized TCU's elite doubles talent, ranking three TCU pairings in the national Top 4 for the first time in program history: Luc Fomba/Jake Fearnley (No. 2), Sander Jong/Lui Maxted (No. 3) and Lui Maxted/Pedro Vives (No. 4).
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Baylor enters the weekend following a 4-0 loss to No. 5 Michigan, on the road. It was just the second loss of the year for the Bears, who fell to 17-2. BU is 7-2 against Top 20 opponents this season, compared to TCU's 8-2 mark. Baylor has not lost consecutive matches since 2018.
This will be the 60th all-time meeting between TCU and Baylor. BU won three of the four meetings last season to cut TCU's lead in the all-time series to 35-24. The Horned Frogs have won two of the last three meetings in Fort Worth. This will be the first time the two teams have met this season and the first time since BU knocked TCU out of the NCAA Tournament in the Elite Eight, last season.
Tulane enters the weekend with a 6-9 record. The Green Wave have lost their last two matches, 3-4, to No. 35 Memphis and No. 71 Oklahoma State. They are 0-7 against ranked opponents this season, with a chance to get their first ranked win on Friday, when they host No. 32 Tulsa before taking on the Horned Frogs on Sunday afternoon.
TCU leads the all-time series against Tulane, 6-1. TCU is 3-0 against Tulane under Coach David Roditi and 1-0 against Tulane when Roditi was playing for the Horned Frogs (a 7-0 win on March 3, 19996).
