FROG FOCUS
TCU enters the dual on a five-match winning streak, with two of those wins coming against Top 25 opponents. This will be the final match of TCU's 9-match homestand to begin the season. The Frogs are looking for their fourth ranked win of the stand against UVA.
TCU has won all eight doubles points to begin the season, the longest streak to start a campaign since 2008. Should the Horned Frogs win the doubles point tomorrow, it will be the longest streak of doubles points to begin a season since 2004, when TCU won its first 10.
The doubles surge has been fueled by TCU's No. 3 pairing, Juan Carlos Aguilar and Tim Ruehl. The graduate transfer duo has won their last five doubles matches together, including coming from behind to win the final three games (two via break) in a 7-5 doubles point clinching victory over Mississippi State on Friday.
TCU's singles success is headlined by Sander Jong. The junior from Amsterdam, playing mostly at No. 3, has won his last five completed matches and boasts a team-best 6-1 singles mark this dual season.
Jong is one of five singles players ranked in the national Top 125 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. He comes in at No. 109, alongside freshman Lui Maxted (No. 69), sophomore Jake Fearnley (No. 52), junior Luc Fomba (No. 44) and graduate senior Aguilar (No. 15).
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
UVA is coming off a 4-2 loss to Baylor in Waco on Saturday. The Cavaliers lost the doubles point to Baylor and three of five completed matches with the lone unfinished match coming at No. 1. UVA is now 5-2 this season with both losses coming in its last two matches against No. 1 Ohio State and No. 3 Baylor.
The Cavaliers lead the all-time series with TCU, 5-1. UVA has won both matchups over the last two seasons, including a 4-3 victory at Indoor Nationals last season. This will be the second time UVA has traveled to Fort Worth. Virginia won that dual, 6-1, back in 2005.
