FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs return home, where they boast a 4-0 record, winning all four duals via sweep, 4-0. TCU set the program record for most consecutive sweeps to start a season with those four victories before suffering a setback to Wisconsin, on the road, last week. TCU's four-match home sweep streak is the longest since 2007. The Horned Frogs have not swept five consecutive home matches in the program's 49 season history.
Alisa Soloveva had a tremendous showing in the team's last dual at Wisconsin. She defeated No. 59 Cai in an epic three-set thriller, defending seven match points to earn her first singles win over a ranked opponent since returning from an ACL injury that kept her out of the lineup last spring.
The Horned Frogs lead the all-time series with Houston, 26-7. TCU has won seven straight duals against the Cougars dating back to 1998. TCU played against Houston in a pre-season individual tournament last season. The Frogs won eight of ten matches against Houston last January. The last dual between the two schools occurred six seasons ago, back in 2016.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Houston enters the dual with a 1-1 record, defeating Luoisiana Monroe, 5-2, after dropping the season opener to Texas A&M, 7-0. The Cougars are coming off a 2021 campaign in which they went 15-8, going 0-4 against Power 5 opponents, losing all four matches via sweep.
