PITTSBURGH  – Michelle Slater's goal 57 seconds into the second half stood up as the game-winner as No. 6 TCU picked up a 1-0 win at No. 20 Pitt Sunday morning. Lauren Kellett made a career-high four saves to notch her third straight shutout.

The Rundown
The first half was very evenly matched as both teams tallied eight shots. Lauren Kellett made three strong saves to keep the Panthers off the board. She got a little help from Camryn Lancaster in the 31st minute as she bodied down a Panther shot on the goal line.

TCU tested the Panther keeper three times in the half. Lancaster had the best look at goal as she barreled her way through some defenders to fire a low shot from the top of 18.

The Frogs wasted little time in the second half, striking for the lone tally in the half's first minute. Olivia Hasler made a strong defensive play to win the ball back and found Grace Collins in space to start the push to goal. Michelle Slater took the Collins pass at the top of the 18 and looped a shot into the upper corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead.

TCU kept the offensive pressure on, forcing the Panther keeper to make four quality saves in the half to keep it a 1-0 game.

The Panthers best look at tying the game came in the final five minutes. Brenna Brosam and Jenna Winebrenner each blocked a shot and Kellett made one last save to preserve the shutout.

Stat of the Game
4 – TCU picked up its fourth shutout of the season and now has 13 shutouts in its last 21 games played dating back to the start of the 2020 season.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the game:
" A lot of credit to Pitt, they are a pretty good team and I think they will do well in ACC. Winning on the road in this environment and on turf is hard. I'm very happy with our group."

On the second half:
"I think we did a better job defensively in the second half. We didn't allow them to play a lot in their end. The goal allowed us to be out on our front foot and I really think the early goal deflated them."

On Lauren Kellett:
"Today was good. Shutouts are always good. She got a lot of action, but not a lot of dangerous chances. She's still a bit wet behind the ears, but both of her games this weekend were really solid. Today, she was good, she didn't allow any rebounds. Camryn (Lancaster) helped her out on the one save, but overall good performance. I'm really proud of her progression."
