TCU Women’s Tennis to Play No. 8 Baylor in Opening Round
FORT WORTH – TCU Women's Tennis (9-12, 3-6 Big 12) travels down to Waco, Texas to compete in the 2021 Big 12 Tournament this weekend. The Horned Frogs have earned the No. 7 seed and will face off against the No. 2 seeded Baylor in the opening round on Friday, April 23 at noon on the Hurd Grandstand Courts.

TCU enters the tournament with the second most ranked players in the tournament. Marie Norris, Mercedes Aristegui and Alisa Soloveva each remained in the national singles rankings for the third consecutive week. Only the top seed, Texas, has more ranked players.
The Horned Frogs have been spearheaded all season by Norris and Aristegui. Norris leads the team with 38 wins, the most she's ever had in a single season, with Aristegui following up with 27 overall victories. Both players have posted 20 wins in singles play, the first time TCU has had multiple 20 win players since the 2016 season.
TCU has battled Baylor close twice already this season. The Frogs dropped a 4-3 contest in Waco on March 4 before falling just short in a furious comeback effort just last Wednesday, April 14. Norris is 2-0 in singles play against the Bears this season while Aristegui is 2-2 with a singles victory back in March and a doubles result in the April match.
