Five singles victories vaults No. 41 TCU past West Virginia
MORGANTOWN, W.V. – No. 41 TCU women's tennis (9-5, 3-1) won five singles matches to take down West Virginia, 5-2, on the road Friday afternoon. It is TCU's fourth victory in a row and the third straight in Big 12 Conference play.
"Winning on the road is hard" head coach Lee Taylor Walker said. "It doesn't matter who or where you're playing, it's hard. The ladies bounced back after missed opportunities in doubles and had a successful day today overcoming a lot of their mental challenges that we've been working through. We are excited to get to Iowa State and prepare for Sunday. It was this time last year and this very trip that was canceled and our season shut down, so we are grateful for every moment of this trip and enjoying it all."
TCU dropped the doubles point after an emotional, 7-6(6) loss on court one, only to bounce back with four straight set wins in singles play and a three-set victory for Mercedes Aristegui. The Horned Frogs overcame losing the doubles point for the second time this season and the first in Big 12 play.
