Heard registers second 30-point game of the season
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – For the second time this season, TCU senior Lauren Heard posted new career-high scoring efforts against West Virginia, but the new mark fell short in a Horned Frogs loss as the No. 19-ranked Mountaineers came away with an 81-78 Big 12 Conference win, Saturday afternoon at WVU Coliseum.
Heard scored 38 points, surpassing her previous career-high of 34 points, which she tallied against the Mountaineers back on Jan. 30.
TURNING POINT
TCU erased a 14-point deficit midway through the third quarter and trailed by just five points heading into the fourth quarter. TCU trailed the Mountaineers by just two points with 1:05 to play, but a key turnover turned into a four-point game and every time that TCU countered at the other end, WVU had an answer at the other end of the floor.
