By: Kell’s field goal with 6 seconds left gives the Horned Frogs the win

FORT WORTH – Kendre Miller rushed for 112 yards as TCU totaled 326 yards on the ground, and Griffin Kell's 25-yard field goal with 6 seconds left was the difference in a 31-28 victory over Kansas Saturday afternoon at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth.

TCU, in keeping its bowl hopes alive, improved to 104-8 in its last 112 games when topping 200 yards rushing. Miller went over 100 yards for the third time in his last six contests.

After Kansas scored a pair of touchdowns to even the game at 28-28 with 4:46 to play, the Horned Frogs drove 67 yards in 14 plays to set up Kell's winning kick. A key play was Max Duggan completing a 10-yard pass to Derius Davis on a 3rd-and-8 at the TCU 27.

Davis posted his second career 100-yard receiving game with six catches for 103 yards. He also gave TCU a 7-0 lead on its opening possession of the game when he took a handoff and raced 43 yards into the end zone for his first career rushing touchdown and ninth score overall via four different ways (four receiving, three punt returns, one kickoff return).

Trailing 14-7 at the half, TCU scored touchdowns on its first three series of the second half to take a 28-14 lead.

On TCU's first possession of the second half, facing a 3rd-and-1 at the TCU 44, Miller broke loose on a 56-yard touchdown run to even the game at 14-14. It took the Horned Frogs just three plays to go 65 yards. It was Miller's team-best seventh rushing touchdown of the season.

Duggan bulldozed his way into the end zone on a fourth-down keeper from the Kansas 1 to give the Horned Frogs a 21-14 lead. Duggan rushed for 74 yards on 14 carries while completing 10-of-16 passes for 166 yards.

A 49-yard completion from Duggan to Davis set up an Emari Demercado 1-yard scoring run, capping a 99-yard drive, to extend the TCU advantage to 28-14 with 11:43 remaining.

Dee Winters led TCU defensively with eight tackles and his second interception of the season, tying Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson for the team lead.
