TCU – KANSAS POSTGAME QUOTES
TCU 31, KANSAS 28
Nov. 20, 2021
TCU Interim Head Coach Jerry Kill
Opening statement
"I'm just proud of the kids. They're still playing hard and our coaches are coaching hard. I just couldn't be anymore prouder than this group of kids. We won our senior day and that's something special that these kids will never forget. Max Duggan is the toughest quarterback or people that you'll ever see play the game of football - period."
On Max Duggan's grit
"Nobody else could play. He's down and we didn't have anybody. Sam was down and he'll be ready next week - he could've played but we didn't want to do that yet. He's raised by a hard-nosed dad; his dad is a football coach. He's old school and that bloodline goes right to his kid, so we thank his family for the bloodline and him carrying it on out."
On the second half comeback
"Ochaun and those guys were motivating everyone in the locker room. There were a lot of emotions in that locker room at halftime. I felt really good going back out and had confidence."
TCU Wide Receiver Derius Davis
On the win:
"It was a tremendous win; you know it's senior night and we have to send the seniors out right and get us to the next game and get our fifth win of the season and you know we just need one more to get to bowl season. So, that was a tremendous win for us."
On his mentality after early fumble:
"Yeah, when I make a mistake, mistakes do not really affect me because I played cornerback and as a cornerback you have to have the next play mentality. So, it doesn't really affect me. I just go out there and play the next play."
TCU Running Back Kendre Miller
On motivation for next weekend:
"We just gotta take it one step at a time. Give the seniors the best season we can with all that's happened this year. We just gotta keep going."
On Emari's leadership:
"I don't even have words for Emari. The way he just pushed. I mean, he got injured early in the season, and he came back. Just to finish up the season and step up and be a leader, I mean it's just remarkable."
TCU Defensive Tackle Corey Bethley
On locker room energy with experienced players:
"It's actually great to have those guys. For the past couple of years, we had one or two, but now there's more like six or seven seniors getting everyone going and creating energy for everyone."
On watching the setup for the game-winning field goal from the sideline:
"He better make it. I've seen him in practice make 60-yarders, 65-yarders like it's nothing. I was telling him before he went out, 'It's just like practice man, no pressure. Just pretend the stadium empty like we're in practice.'"

Kansas Head Coach Lance Leipold
On Jalon Daniels continuing to improve
"He took another big step forward and he was actually sick this week, but he came into this game and made some really big plays, led his team and overall had a great game."
On toughness of defense
"I was very pleased, I think we played good goal line defense tonight, the big plays around the perimeter they were able to get on us, but I tip my hat to Jerry Kill on him stepping into a difficult roll and still has his team prepared to play like they did today really reflects his leadership."
Kansas Wide Receiver Kwamie Lassiter II
On TCU's last drive:
"I feel like it's a feelin you can't release playing I guess, you're just ready to get back on the field and make a play. They did what they were supposed to do, they drove and ended the game."
Kansas Quarterback Jalon Daniels
On Devin Neal being replaced:
"It's the next man up mentality, when it comes to the game of football, injuries happen its football, it's a physical game."
