Mike Miles scores 20 points and Emanuel Miller records a double-double

FORT WORTH - Behind 20 points by Mike Miles and a double-double from Emanuel Miller, TCU beat Southern Miss, 83-51, Monday night at Schollmaier Arena.

For the second consecutive game, TCU (2-0) dominated the boards, outrebounding Southern Miss (1-2), 53-27. Miller had 13 rebounds to go with 12 points for his second double-double in as many games.

TCU built a gradual lead throughout the first half, which was paced by Miles' 14 points behind a 2-of-3 effort from the 3-point line. The Frogs dominated the boards in the first half, 22-11, and were 6-of-13 from 3-point range to take a 44-26 lead at the half.

In the second half, TCU used a 13-0 run late in the game to go up by 34 points. The Frogs got a big boost from the bench, outscoring the Golden Eagles, 29-6.

TCU shot 49.3 percent from the field and held Southern Miss to 33.3 percent shooting.

TCU outrebounded Southern Miss 53-27. The Frogs improved to 83-26 under Dixon when outrebounding opponents.
TCU's rebounding advantage of 26 is the third-most ever by a TCU team since the 1996-97 season and the most since TCU had 28 against Central Oklahoma on Dec. 12, 1998.
Under Dixon, TCU improved to 61-10 against nonconference teams and 44-4 against nonconference opponents in Schollmaier Arena.
Since 2014-15, the Frogs have gone 39-4 in the month of November.

Individual Notes

Dixon improved to 98-71 at TCU and is two victories away from becoming the fifth head coach with 100 wins at TCU.
Micah Peavy went 1-for-1 from the 3-point line. It was his first-career 3-pointer.
Peavy finished with 10 points. It was his sixth-career game in double figures.
Peavy's four assists tied a career high. He also had four assists against Troy on Dec. 4, 2020 when he played at Texas Tech.
Mike Miles scored 20 points. It was his 20th career game scoring in double figures and his sixth scoring 20 points or more.
Miles was the Frogs leading scorer for the second time in as many games this season. He led TCU eight times last season as a freshman.
Chuck O'Bannon was 1-of-3 from 3-point range. It was his eighth-straight game with at least one made three, dating back to last season.
Emanuel Miller recorded 12 points and 13 rebounds for his second double-double in as many games this season. It was the 10th double-double of his career.
Souleymane Doumbia was 2-for-2 from the field. He's a perfect 4-for-4 in his two-game career.
