Mattie Dukes earns second MOP in Reining
FORT WORTH – The sixth-ranked TCU equestrian team fell to third-ranked SMU, 11-9, Friday afternoon at Diamond Creek Ranch.

"Western had a very strong day and have been that way all year so far. Fences left the door open to a very good team, but we will work on our mental game and be ready next meet. We will be on the road in two weeks so it's time to put this one behind us and prepare for that matchup."
THE RUNDOWN
TCU (2-2) opened the day with a 4-1 loss in Fences. Sydney Berube earned the highest score for the Frogs in the event with an 80 on Fats. Raegan Rast claimed the only point for TCU outscoring her opponent 65-63.
In Reining, TCU secured the event, 3-2. Madyson Buchanan secured the first point outscoring her opponent 66.5-66. Mattie Dukes rode her way to her second Reining MOP of the season, adding a point for the Frogs with 68 on Smooch. Dukes is 8-8 in both Horsemanship and Reining this season. Jessica McAllister brought it home with a 68-67.5 win on Remi.
After the break, TCU earned two points in Flat action. Wynne Weatherly continues to perform in the event earning a 69-63.5 win on Mac. Jacey Albaugh earned her highest score of the season carding an 85 on Casper to add a point for the Frogs.
The Frogs finished the day out strong with a 3-2 victory in Horsemanship. Jessica McAllister earned a 77.5-67 win on Gomer. Mattie Dukes followed her with a 74.5 on George and Shea Graham picked up the last point with a 78-75.5 win on Jack.
UP NEXT
TCU will take to the road in two weeks for a Big 12 matchup against No. 4 Oklahoma State on Saturday, Oct. 23rd.
