Frogs Hit the Road for matchup in Stillwater
STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 6-ranked TCU equestrian team is hitting the road for their second Big 12 matchup of the season, taking on No. 4-ranked Oklahoma State this Saturday, Oct. 23, at Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center beginning at 1 p.m.
ALL-TIME SERIES
OSU leads the all-time series 22-11 over TCU. The Frogs are 1-10 when facing the Cowgirls in Stillwater. The last matchup between the two programs was March 27, 2021, in the Big 12 Championship final where the Frogs were defeated 11-9 in a battle that came down to a video review on the last two points.
SCOUTING THE FROGS
TCU (2-2, 0-1 Big 12) is coming off a heartbreaking loss in its last meet, falling to No. 3 SMU 11-9. Mattie Dukes starred in the meet going 2-2 in Horsemanship and Reining and earning the Reining MOP.
The Western side continues to power along with Dukes, Jessica McAllister and Shea Graham paving the way. The unit is 7-1 on the season in both the Horsemanship and Reining events. The last meet-up between the Frogs and Cowgirls the Western Seat split events with OSU taking Horsemanship 3-2 and TCU winning Reining 3-2.
On the Jump Seat side, the Frogs were 0-2 against the Mustangs in Flat and Fences. Raegan Rast claimed the only point for the Frogs in Fences outscoring her opponent 65-63. Wynne Weatherly and Jacey Albaugh continue to perform well in Flat both adding a point to the board for TCU.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
Oklahoma State (2-0, 1-0 Big 12) is coming off a 10-9 win in their home-opener where they defeated No. 1 Auburn. The Cowgirls are led by Molly Mitchell – who is off to an undefeated start on the season – All-American Emma Pacyna and team captain, Katie Pelzel.
OSU split events with Auburn last week as they dropped the Jump Seat side 5-4 and rallied for the Western Seat points 6-4. With the meet tied at 9-9 Hope King delivered for the Cowgirls as she won MOP honors and earned the meet-clinching point 80-74 in Flat.
