No. 7 TCU Takes Down No. 2 South Carolina in a Thriller

FORT WORTH – In its fall season finale, No. 7 TCU Equestrian took down defending National Champion and second-ranked South Carolina, 10-9, Friday at KSM Bear Creek Farms.

The meet came down to a review on a South Carolina Reining ride, and the result was a Horned Frog point.

Earning MOPs for TCU was Amy Krebs (Fences) and Piper Keller (Horsemanship). TCU won both Western events 3-2, and tied Fences 2-2.

To open the meet, TCU split Fences with the Gamecocks 2-2, with Krebs and Lilly Goldstein earning victories. Krebs' 88 gave her the MOP and was the high score of the event.

In Western, the Frogs took three points to hold a 5-4 lead at the break. Keller joined Sydney Sargent and Peyton Staat in the win column.

After the break, TCU earned two victories from Molly Gfroerer and Amy Krebs and the score was 7-7 entering the final event.

During Reining, TCU and South Carolina each took two points to force a 9-9 tie while one Gamecock ride remained under review. Following the review, Cassie Hacking emerged victorious and the Frogs won the meet.
