
TCU Set to Take on No. 3 SMU

Frogs face crosstown Mustangs
FORT WORTH – The No. 6-ranked TCU equestrian team is set to face No. 3-ranked SMU this Friday, Oct. 8, at Diamond Creek Ranch (nut free facility) at 10 a.m. This marks the first of two matchups against the Mustangs this season.
ALL-TIME SERIES
TCU leads the all-time series 11-10 over SMU. The Frogs are 7-4 when facing the Mustangs at home, and between both programs, the home team has won the previous eight meetings.
SCOUTING THE FROGS
TCU (2-1) came out strong to open its season picking up wins against No. 9 South Carolina and UC Davis last weekend in California. Mattie Dukes and Jessica McAllister both brought home two MOPs each on the Western side, McAllister had both in Horsemanship and Dukes took one for Horsemanship and the other for Reining.
The Frogs debuted a freshman, Laurel Smith, who went 2-2 in the Jump Seat. TCU's experienced Jumping Seat core proved they cannot be forgotten as Isabella Baxter, Ashleigh Scully, Raegan Rast and Wynne Weatherly each won multiple points during the weekend.
SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
SMU (1-1, 1-1 ECAC) split their season opening meet in Delaware last weekend as the third ranked Mustangs downed Delaware State 8-7 and fell to No. 10 UT Martin 9-6, in East Coast Athletic Conference action.
The National Runner Ups in Reining fell flat last weekend as they went 0-2, falling 4-3 against Delaware State and 3-1 against No. 10 UT Martin. On the Horsemanship side Nya Kearns took home an MOP with a score of 78 against the Hornets and Mallory Vroegh had the MOP with a score of 78.5 against Delaware State.
The Mustangs were able to earn the most points in the Jump Seat, outscoring both opponents 8-7 in Fences and Flat. Emma Jolly rode home to an MOP in Fences outscoring her opponent 87-78.
